You must have missed the fact that he and Beck have been buddies for a long time, he's been sitting in with Beck for years, and Beck's last recorded output(and tour)was a collaboration with him…

Rhonda does a nice solo here, also notice Derek Trucks checking out her and McLaughlin.
She and John McLaughlin were the only two present who didn't look way past their due date. The production with all the house lights up the whole time was horrible. JB deserved better than this hastily arranged train wreck.

Because Beck toured with Johnny last year. Plus, he was the most well-known person among all the participants.
Depp is talented. I would have rather seen Rod up there though.

I have heard that Tal was either not invited or touring with Incubus, anyone know? Sad she wasn't there they had awesome chemistry
I hope it's the latter because if she wasn't invited that's a crime. That stuff at Ronnie Scott's especially showcased her really well and obviously she fit right in with Jeff.
I was at Jeff's last show in Reno at the Grand Serria. Jeff played most of the show and Johnny came out for the last 25mimutes or so. We left after about 3 songs of Johnny singing.
