Well left or right handed makes no difference. The bottom line is that the instruments we got should have never left the factory. Utterly unplayable.

If a company's QC completely falls apart in order to get an extra 50 basses out the door in a given year, then their problems are WAY bigger than poorly cut nuts, crooked bridges and warped/sloped necks.Weird you lefties are getting bum necks, I don't see why it'd be any harder or even different to make a lefty neck than a right-handed one. And all of my Rics have had fine necks. Doesn't make sense. Maybe they sourced more wood than they usually do and lowered the quality bar in order to get some lefties out the door finally.

I also have three Ric 4003's (all recent models) none of mine are perfect either but they are all great. But I must say, and I am not making excuses, that there is another great bass maker that had a very similar problem aligning the strings on their 5 string models. It happens....no bass or guitar maker is free from hits and misses in production issues.

How much for the boat anchor? I'll pay $ 1300 for any 2012 Ric that is considered a boat anchor unless it was purposely abused.RIC came off my GAS list after I got a new one, it had a defective bridge and was generally a boat anchor.
It looked very cool though. QC and overall playability...not for me.
I hate those basses that look awesome but don't play well. I've had too many of those!

Exactly my point. Even with all these supposed problems, You can't get a used Ric for under about $1600 because they are some of the very best basses on the planet.Sorry...sent back to MF a while ago...soon after I got it.

Or they are just priced high.
