Rick 4004 through Orange TB 500?

I will be receiving my Rick 4004 tomorrow but don't have a (usable) amp yet to run it through. I would use the amp for practice as well as gigging small to medium gigs. I don't need a cab just yet since there is already one in my practice room

I was strongly considering the Orange TB 500 because of it's incredible punch in a very compact package and fantastic, growly tone.

I'm worried about two things, though: First is reliability, the lesser of the problems. I've heard of people's TBs simply frying due to badly placed capacitors/fuses etc. Trying to solve that problem, I actually contacted Orange personally and was assured that said manufacturing problem was dealt with a while back. Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone had any issues with this amp lately or is the problem really a goner?

The second problem is the tone: Since I am receiving a Rick 4004, I would like to get an amp that compliments the classic, punchy Rick-o-sound. I'm still aiming for something rather growly (Stoner Rock, RATM, Hard Rock; that direction) but am worried the TB is almost too growly with practically NO clean sound at all. Is that worry justified or is the TB capable of at least some kind of cleans after all?

Greatly appreciate any advice! Help me!

I played a 4003 through a TB500 w/Traynor 4x10, and it was a delicious thing indeed. I thought there was plenty of clean headroom, but then again stoner bands can be quite loud. Most bassists I tend to associate with that genre like some dirt in their tone, so if that's your vibe, the Orange will rock. Then again, I found its 500w in a 4x10 pretty damned loud; could possibly deliver the clean sound too!
