i like the look of em but sadly haven't found any anywhere to play...

Periodically someone asks, and receives little information. These things are evidently few and far between. Did you do a search to see previous inquiries? You will find a few comments by people who have played them.

That 4000 is pretty rare. Between the single pickup, in an unusual-for-Rickenbacker position, and the different bridge, I would expect it to sound different. How would you describe the difference in tone as compared to a 4001?

Are you aware that Guitar Broker has a '61 4000 for sale? They're asking $6000 and it doesn't look as nice as yours.

Dave my "61 has been appraised at much higher then $6000, Thats a good price considering there are only three of these that exist!Chris Squire has the other one!

I'm gonna look into purchasing this one, thanks for letting me know about it.
