I've been lurking around for a while on here but now I could really do with some help.
I've been searching for this bass for years, its a Hondo 4003 copy I think. I love the look of them and also love the sound on certain records i've heard using it.
The reason i'm asking is because it looks pretty raggedy and am wondering how much its worth paying balanced with how much its going to cost to tidy it up. I mean if I really wanted i could just buy a Rockinbetter for £500 new. This one is going for £200.
A bit of the binding is chipped along with the paintwork that you can see in the pics.
The truss rod hole was widened for some reason and some of the lacquer on the headstock is cracking.
I've had a look and lacquering costs about £50 but would it be worth getting it all done up paintwork and all? Does anyone know if these would be any better than just buying a newer copy. The only difference I can see is that this one has stereo outputs.
