Rickenbacker Question

I wonder why they stopped making them? Every bass manufacturer makes 5 and some make 6 string basses now. Maybe they'll rethink this in the future? I've only had my latest bass ... my Modulus Quamtum 6 string for one week and I'm already totally addicted to the extended range it gives me. My other basses are 5 strings but when it's time to replace them their replacements will be 6 string basses. I HAD a Groovetools 8 string bass a few years ago. I sounded AWESOME but the neck was sinply too wide for comfort. I think the average 6 string bass neck is about as wide as I could go with my average size hands.

Oh well ... thanks for the info!

The 4004 is only temporarily out of production. They've been having a rough time keeping up with the volume of orders coming in for the more popular stuff and haven't done a run of 4004's in over a year I believe.

The production facility has been updated now so they should begin doing the 4004 sometime in the near future.
