Rickenbacker Trouble

I love my 2010 4003 Ric.. But latley it has a buzz at some venues. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem??

If you plug a single coil bass into a circuit with dimmers then the single coil buzz will be louder than usual. Also some neon lights will do this as well. Another culprit is CRT style tv sets.

Solution ... Noise gate.

Or replace your pickups with Joe Barden humbuckers.

You're not giving us enuff info.
Happens in all pickup switch settings?
...goes away with Tone rolled off?
...you've tried different cables?
...you've tried a different bass and it doesn't buzz?
And so on.
We can't really help you if you don't tell us what's gong on, and what you've already tried.

I hate noise gate, and I want stock pups, so I'll have to turn off the lights!

I did the mod myself, on my brand new 2010 4003, straight out of the case, before I played (get this) a single note on it. Plugged the axe into my amp, cranked it up turned around slowly a few times to register the amount of noise, then I started warming up the soldering iron.

I change out the stock rounds for LaBella DTB flats at the same time. I have no idea what it sounds like with rounds....

All I know is that it is quiet as can be anywhere I take it, so long as I keep both pups at the same level.
