Why so long of a wait for one? And are the rics of the 80's as good as the new ones? Specifically the 4003? Are they going for more money than a new one because of the wait?

idk if they go for more because of the wait or not....but they are "vintage", Ive played a few 70s and 80s ricks and ill vouche that they are very nice.
although the wait does seem very unreasonable for a production bass, even if they do call it a custom.

yeah i called zzzounds and they said they fireglo 4003's are being backorderd until june of next year! ***??
Even one from the past year or two will go for as much or more than a new one because of the back order. Wild.
