(right forum?) Playing on concrete

- Not sure if this is the right forum. Maybe in misc but I thought people here would know more since it's about sound

My band doesn't have any other place to practice but in one of those modern garages. Problem is, the floor is made of concrete thus, our instruments sound like crap. We thought about buying carpets but yet w can't cover the whole garage. Would anyone have any idea how we could fix this ?

some lil carpets to keep stuff from sliding around is good. I think it sounds like crap cuz all the sound is reflecting off the walls and such. use some heavy blankets on the walls to absorb some sound maybe?

Get some area rugs. Covering up the concrete floor should kill some of the sound reflecting around. If possible, hanging rugs on the walls can also help. Check garage sales for cheap rugs.

Pieces of carpet on the walls and floor will help. Main thing is to try and stop standing waves. That is sound wave bouncing back and forth so even hard surface can help to redirect sound. Some hard surface at as low at 3-4 degree angle is enough to stop standing waves. Can make simple baffles to put around your rigs to help absorb sound and then just store in a corner when done.

Then the obvious answer turn down get practice sixed gear it's about playing music not blowing your ears out.
