My wife is always saying that bad things come in threes, and I'm beginning to believe her. First Art Linkletter, then Gary Coleman, and now Dennis Hopper. And Ronnie James Dio a couple of weeks ago. Sheesh, 2010 is starting to look like 1977, when John Wayne, Elvis, and Groucho Marx (among others) passed on!

I thought his scene in True Romance with Christopher Walken before his character got killed was an absolute CLASSIC!
One of my faves of all time!

As someone who has worn out one DVD of Easy Rider, and seen it (as well as Apocalypse Now) +/-100 times, this hit me real hard.

I was going to school in the DC area when Easy Rider was released (about 1969). A friend of mine showed up from Richmond with some buddies and invited me to go see this movie about some hippy bikers traveling cross country. I took a 4-way hit of acid and away we went. Afterwards we went to this community house in Tacoma Park called Toad House to chill. Closest thing to a religious experience I ever "grokked" from a movie...Thanks Dennis

interesting comment...... remember that time as a very optimistic one,which i have not seen since......the drug culture was then seen as a path to some sort of enlightenment and spiritual awakening,rather than the mind numbing bummer that it is now......
