RIP Don Pardo

maybe, just maybe they will finally pull the plug on SNL, its been on life support for awhile now, and now no more Don Pardo, well someone should have the balls to put it out of its miserable existance. RIP Don Pardo, you were memorable to say the least.

He was the announcer for every season of SNL except the first one.
I think I remember him announcing the very first show, hosted by George Carlin. That would've been in October 1975.
Gents, he did indeed serve as the announcer for the first season. According to his Wiki page, he did skip one season (1981-82), but there's no explanation as to why.

A native of Westfield, MA, he was 96 when he passed. A good, long, full life. RIP Mr. Pardo.

Yes, he was born in Westfield (where I used to work for a couple years) and grew up in eastern Connecticut (not too far from where I used to live). Knowing stuff like this makes me ponder what these familiar places were like back in his day.
