My favorite thing Harvey Korman did was appearing on the Tonight Show a day or two after Johnny Carson got busted for DUI. There was an edict that the guests couldn't say a word about Johnny's DUI. Well, I can't remember the exact exchange, but Johnny was goofing on Harvey, and Harvey went right for the DUI, then spent the whole rest of the show "apologizing" for it. Johnny tried to take it in stride on the air, but you could tell he was really shaken up that someone would dare go against one of his edicts, and it was so funny to watch Johnny try to regain composure and never quite get there. In typical Carson bully fashion he never had Harvey on the show again, but I was so glad he did it because it was so uncomfortable for Johnny, a guy who made everyone around him uncomfortable as much as possible.

I always loved the way that Tim Conway was able to get Harvey to crack up mid-skit during the Burnett days. This was my favorite when I was a kid... Harvey loses it a few times:

Love the Guy. He had always made me scream with laughter.
-No matter what the part, he always nailed it for me. In fact, I can't think of an other actor playing his parts; he positively owned them.

There's an Educational series that shows occasionally on Public TV called The Western Tradition. It has as it's moderator, Eugene Weber, a UCLA Professor Emeritus who is a passable ringer for Harvey Korman.
The Prof., who was a scholarly superstar in his own right, has a very Patrician, upper crust manner in his delivery. This style of Speech of a byone era, is all Harvey at his best; complete with rolling R's and vocal flourishes. It's surreal...like watching an old Carol Burnett skit in some Bizarro World where fantasy merges with Reality.
Because of this, whenever I catch it, I stop everything & set up the popcorn...must-see TV.
Sort of my own private homage to Harvey.
Since Mr.Weber had been an institution at UCLA for decades, I've often wondered if this guy was a Harvey influence for some of his more outlandish characters. In any event, it's a scream...and educational too, because Weber is fantastic, a history superstar.
So, being a history buff and a lover of all things Harvey, I get two bangs for the same buck.
You just can't beat it... RIP Mr.Korman (and Mr. Weber, too).

I've seen that guy! The first time I was flipping through the channels and thought it was Korman. I had to stop and stare for about 5 seconds to convince myself that it was someone else.
