Wow. What a loss. A great man has passed. Definitely an influence on me. Go with peace brother.

I had heard a few days, maybe a week ago that he was dying of cancer, but then I saw the story on the news last night that he had passed.
I was shocked by this. What a great man we've lost.

The guy was an inspiration. He told a bunch of kids whom everyone else had written off that by putting effort into it, they could accomplish something: learning calculus and passing the AP exam. And so they did.

We need more of Jaime Escalante.

What a loss. A great inspiration to many.

If anything, I am glad this guy has left a legacy that will continue in teachers inspired by him, and the students he taught.
