Percy Sledge, who sang 'When a Man Loves a Woman,' dies at 74

Was just coming on here to start this thread. Percy was an excellent performer who I had the pleasure of playing bass for a couple years ago when he passed through here...but more importantly he was a genuinely nice guy overall; always friendly and fun to work with. Many 'old timers' who have passed through here before and since have been egotistical blowhards, but Percy was anything but...a great memory that I'll never forget. The funny thing is, I had decided to try the old 'P with flats' thing around that time, and shortly after I got it, the Percy gig came around...needless to say, that worked out really well

Rest in Peace, Percy...
