I dont have a lot of autographs but this one is special to me. Rocco spent a few minutes talking to 3 bass players after the TOP show in Vancouver. A true gentleman and a phenomenal musician.
Thank you for making me a better bass player.
RIP Mr. Prestia. Never got to meet him but I don't think anyone can say they weren't influenced by him, either directly or indirectly.
16th notes for days. Funked in ways others never thought of. Truly sad news.
A true great and a major influence to myself and countless others.

First saw TOP as a child in Subic Bay naval base. That bass just captivated me and continued all my life. In my opinion abundantly copied but never duplicated. It's a pulse that you literally feel in vascular system or in simple terms in your heart and your gut.
Rocco said he never read music. Well no one can really write out his basslines. Plus good luck finding another Garibaldi, which is an inseparable part of that pulse - despite of the drummer hate in the forum which I hope is just a joke. Widely copied but never duplicated. Live it's just a different experience.

Rocco was a great player, and a really nice guy when I met him several years ago. RIP and thanks for the music Rocco!
Same... only got into him after seeing them with Wageningin on bass last year, which led me to discover ROCCO himself. He's been a huge influence on me since then. Damn. What a poopie way to end the day. Damn! Rest in peace, Mr Prestia.
What is hip? is the coolest bass riff ever. Changed how I played bass.
A legend left us and this world lost its funk. Rocco was a bass giant and his music will live forever.
