Still reeling after last week's news of the passing of Roger McLachlan.
Roger was easily my favourite bass player, a Melbourne legend, hard-working and inspiring artist & all-round nice guy.
Roger will leave a big hole in our live music scene as well as in the studio. His talent, personality and positive vibe will be sadly missed.
Just in the last year I've enjoyed his amazing talent with Stars, Kevin Borich & Geoff Achison.
Back when The Souldiggers used to play regularly at The Micawber Tavern there was a dedicated crowd of us who never missed a chance to see Geoff, Roger & Gerry giving 110% for 3 sets on a Friday night. We called those nights our therapy sessions and there was no better way to start a weekend or shake out the blues! They were truly great times.
Sincere condolences to Roger's family and friends.
He leaves an enormous legacy going right back to the 70's as a founding member of Little River Band and a vital member of Stars and if you weren't already aware of him, I'm sure you have heard his great work on dozens of recordings over the years.
