So i have road cases for all my stuff, 4x10 cab, 1x15 cab & head. They each cost me about $100 each. In my opinion, a small price to pay considering how much my Ampeg rig cost!! Some of my band mates think i'm crazy cause it makes heavy stuff more heavy, which is true. But its been my experience that most of the time your stuff gets dined, danged, ripped etc, is when your moving it. So just wanted to get other peeps view on this or am I one of the few who road cases there cabs? Thanks

I would if i needed to, My amp is rack mounted so its in a good quality rack case.
Cabs, well, nah, places where ive seen the prices, the case would cost more than my 810!

Defenitely road cases / rack equipment, if You're touring or gigging frequently.
1. Protects Your valuables.
2. It makes the loading / unloading easier when everything has exact square dimensions and multiple handles that You can add if desired.

They weigh a ton for the SPL they deliver. Very few people actually NEED road cases for their cabs. Got to ask yourself if it's worth it to deal with either a removable or to pay the premium for a heavy expensive cab with it built in if you don't actually need it.
I use road cases only when someone else moves my gear or if its put in a large equipment truck.
If its being transported in my minivan, I use a padded soft cover - protects both the cab AND the van's interior.

am I missing something on the mesa website? how much are those road ready cabs? more specifically, the 1x15 and the 2x10?

IMO i would think that your epuipment would get dinged around because it was so heavy. and the money you spent on the case and the rig together, you couldve gotten a schroder that is smaller lighter , louder ,and is pushing more watts than any 810 could.and i would think it would sound better too.

I'm kicking over a 1/4 ply-backed lam for the majority of a cab with extensive aviation-style bracing. That Pozi-Lite and a couple others also look interesting. Bummer it's all 4x8 sheets though.

It is far superior to any other case I've found. It's watertight, it has no joints or edges that weaken from movement and vibration, and it does not flex like many road cases when the lids are off. The molded plastic gives itself structural reinforcement like none other I've tried, and it's the lightest 4-space case I've used by leaps and bounds. The handles on the side are huge comfy and open, and don't twist my wrists or trap my knuckles when trying to wiggle gear in the back of my truck. I added weatherstripping material to the lids' seal slots to act as gaskets, and this case is almost airtight. Weather and flying beer pose no threat. I easily recommend the full-depth U.S. Roto-Racks to everyone, cuz mine has proven itself to me. The old style molded plastic SKB racks are weak, Anvil and RoadReady racks are far too heavy and clumsy, and Grundorf should be put out of business for making such terrible products.
As for cabs... RHINOLINER! Screw tolex and carpet, man. I can't wait until the carpeting on my current cabs get beat up enough to replace them, cuz I'm getting a solid 1/4" layer all over them. If I ever order new cabs, they'll be shipped to me sans-covering. There's no need to case up cabinets that have been Rhinolined. It's flexible, durable, easily repairable, and shock-absorbant.

I had ATA cases built for my V4BH and SVT- 48HE (compact 4x8).
They protected the gear fantastically through 14 states, europe, and Ja-Pan! but they cost me CONSIDERABLY more than $100.

C'mon, give it up- I recently added a 1x15....
The previous owner of my Ashdown 410 combo had a case made for it. I don't know how much it cost him but it was worth every penny. Plus it can be quite handy to keep in on the base at home so I can wheel it around (I'm a student and space is at a premium - the only place it fits is in front of the wardrobe!)

The link directs me to the thread 330894? But I did some digging and found only a few case makers that use those laminated panels. No technical info though.
The sandwich panels have a certain appeal, I've been thinking 2,5cm high density foam with 12 mm birch plywood on both sides and solid wood corners.

I agree. They make gear more heavy but if you tour a lot and have roadies like me, its not an option not to have them.
