Hey has anybody used those roasted maple fretboards they sell on LMII? I'm looking for some "real world" samples. Just looking the images on the LMII website, I can't tell what the colors look like in a finished piece.

    Thx in advance!

Where are they on the site? I've been window shopping their fingerboards prepping for my build, and i seem to have missed the roasted offerings!
Unless its the 'tempered' maple boards...

Tempered == Roasted == Torrified. All the same thing, basically.

Oh good to know... I may be your guinea pig then, but I’m afraid my perspective will offer you very little context lol

Yeah, I called them to ask what they looked like finished, but I wasn’t satisfied with their answer. I just haven’t seen enough roasted maple out in the real world - that is, not enough that I’ve liked. Most of the RM that I see on the MusicMan basses at GC just looks... dirty.

I’ve seen a lot of rough stories about companies that offer roasted for the looks, but then deliver stuff that just looks completely normal.. like a lot of people I think I’m fully sold on the narrative effect, the idea of it, the flavor that comes to mind.. I just hope whatever I encounter adds up!

Some of it does look dirty, some of it looks like it has a nice amber tint.
Sorry it's not a FB, but you get the idea
