For Sale is my 2005 Rob Allen MB2, serial number 542. I traded for this bass last year, and I love everything about it except the 34" scale--I have a 32" mb-2, and it fits my hands so well it gets all of my fretless work. This one is getting zero attention, and that's a travesty.
Walnut neck and top, lined ebony fingerboard, swamp ash body, long thumbrest.
The bass is strung with La Bella 760N tapewounds, and comes with an extra set of new 760N strings, as well as an older ProTec soft case and straploks (will include strap ends).
The bass plays like every mb-2 I've ever played. Smooth fingerboard, fast neck. It sounds like thunder, with a super good mwah. Despite often taking out my 32" mb-2 and Solid 4 (see my avatar for the family photo) to gigs that don't just call for my P bass, when I have performed or rehearsed with this bass, it gets ALL of the compliments. Everyone says it looks smashing, and musicians are big fans of the tone. I rarely hear that about my other basses.
It was gigged regularly by the original owner from 2005-2011, and he never planned to sell it; there is buckle rash on the back, and the top has some scratches if you look close. There's also a small scratch on the neck at the 9th fret, thumb position. (Also note that the gig bag top pocket zipper needs to be resewn along 1/3).
PayPal shipped insured/PP verified/signature required CONUS, with bag, extra strings, straploks. Canadian shipping available; inquire. MAY consider partial trades.
