Robots to get their own internet?

I haven't seen "Terminator" in years, but isn't this close to Skynet?

The key is allowing robots to share knowledge. That's really new.

Dr Waibel said it would be a place that would teach robots about the objects that fill the human world and their relationships to each other.

Not far off in the future, we'll have robots in most of our homes, and they'll all be connected via wireless internet. What could go wrong? :D

I, for two, welcome RoboEarth if not merely for the sake of curiosity. I want to read how the least talented of stringed instrument robot musicians argue on TalkBassCollective about tonewoods and how OrangeDrop caps really have a noticable effect on tone. Of course then there will also be the funny drama of airing out laundry in public on MetalFaceBook not to mention cool robo-porn with lots of interfacing.

so, i'm just gonna say the obvious. if the robots ever pull an "I robot" and rebel in order to better serve the laws of robotics, i'm siding with them.

we've done nothing but frack ourselves and our planet. we need something to overwatch us. something to tell us how to live. we are obviously not responsible enough to do it ourselves.
