Rock Strings for SR4?

So I am looking to replace the DR Lo Riders on my Stingray with something else. They seemed to take forever to break in. I play classic and modern rock. No slap. Don't want zingy. But I want to be able to cut through. Suggestions?

I've found the Lowriders to compliment the SR tone the best so not sure where to go from there if you want something else.

EXL-170 D' Addario might be worth a try.

i'd recommend to go with the DR Bootzillas.
i think they are a great combination with the Stingrays and makes the bass quite growly so it is voiced quite well in a rock setting.
i think that is a really good combination

You should try Labella hard rocking steel strings I have that on my Sterling and they are more thump than slap, hope that helps

Just ordered the DR Nickel Lo-Riders from Just Strings.

First impressions

Not as bright or clanky as regular Low Beams new. They seem to be breaking in quickly, and I am really liking them. Definitely thumpier.

What about the EB Slinkys? There is just something about them on a 'Ray.

Lo Rider nickels are the bomb! Growly and deep, but not zingy or too bright. They sound awesome already!!!!

I hated steel LowRiders on my 4 string Ray when I tried them -- they don't have the low-mid grunt of a nickel set. I have d'addario nickel 50-105 now, and they feel and sound great.

i just tried low rider nickels on my SR4 as well and they seem to keep the tone of the SS low riders but a little less bright which is good.
