roland cube practice amp

Hi I`m looking for a practice amp.is it better to get an amp and buy a effects pedal.or buy one built in like roland,anybody know what the delay and other effects are like
the roland looks good because its built in and can be used for a jam outside with a battery .Any comments please

i have the cube 100, good amp have had it for years now great for practices and small gigs just upgrading to a halfstack now. the effects are good i think.. theres no distrtion really you just have the gain but no footswitch or anything fr that, the effects other than that are grand and you can plug in footswitches to the back, the twah and delay are pretty good.. id just say try it out somewhere.
id reccomend the amp but if its just the effects yure after id get em separately you might have t use other peoples stuff at gigs etc. could just bring effects and still get the sound you want.

If you just want the effects for experimenting and practicing, those in the Roland Cubes are fine. For serious gigging or recording, when you want maximum tone quality and adjustability of effects (such as delay times), you really need external effects. I think the Roland Cubes are excellent amps overall, and for your purposes they're probably perfect.

Myself, I have no use for effects. The Roland's are okay. But if you're into effects you're better off keeping them separate from the amp. However, if you really need a small battery powered amp that has effects you can dabble with, the Roland is okay.
