If I could get it in Ireland for a reasonable price I would totally go for it, just for fun though. 12 lbs isn't all that heavy, I'm not sure, but I think my current bass is around that( ESP LTD AX-404) is around that. It would be pretty cool to like, play a song on the bass neck, and then switch to the guitar neck to play a solo, and then back to the bass neck...

The only double neck bass/guitar I'd buy is a Rickenbacker 4080, which would have to be used, and around 4-8 grand. Warmoth does sell a Pbass/Strat double neck body for $329. It's unfinished, no electronics, no neck, no nothing, just a body.

I'm not sure about other brands.

Epiphone's 6/12 doubleneck is around $1000, so a bass version would be about the same if they made one.
Back in 1980 Ibanez had 6/4 and 6/12s, and they ran around $450 used--I bought the 6/12 and it was incredible.

A good case is mandatory, and not cheap.
