looking to pick up an sx because of all the great things ive heard...bad thing is all the criticism on actually getting the bass in good condition....i live in wisconsin...do you think i would be okay just ordering the bass by itself? or is the case a must buy if i want it in good shape

I've ordered several by themselves and they were fine. They box them up in a cardboard carton with styrofoam. Should be fine.
