Roscoe Beck 6?

I met Roscoe about 2 weeks ago,he originally messed around with the 6 back before he went to fender and started the RB5,Roscoe said,"that the RB5 was one of the first 5 strings designed by Fender,at the time they did not have a 5 string,i would say they did a damn good job on there first 5,by the way Roscoe is a very nice guy.

The RB4 is the only Roscoe Beck Signature currently available. The RB5's production is temporarily suspended for a brief period before its re-introduction with new features (same locking convertible bridge and chrome dome knobs as the RB4 and the choice of Pao Ferro or Maple fingerboard with abalone dot inlays). Fender already discuss with Roscoe Beck a project for the much anticipated 6-string version of the artist's personal instrument. I guess that the new Fender Roscoe Beck VI would be modeled after the infamous "Slant" six-string monster built by Michael Stevens (former Custom Shop Master Builder and actual founder of Stevens Guitars), featuring a 2-octave ebony fingerboard, through-neck construction and a 4+2 tuner array.

Hey,
I found the following pics on louis candell's website when I was looking for pics of six string jazz basses a while back.
They're of a Custom Shop prototype I believe.
Good job I saved them as I can't find them online anymore.

Thought they might be of interest, but that heel block looks it'd be a bitch!

It's not exactly an RB6, but a good approach to the original. Basically a Custom Shop 6-string bass with a buvinga body featuring a bolt-on purpleheart neck and a fretless chessnut fingerboard. The Fender RB6 (modeled after the infamous Stevens Slant six-string monster) is essentially a through-neck bass with the 2-octave ebony fretboard slightly cut down to the last 3 frets. It also features a curly maple body, an aged cream pearloid pickguard, Gotoh dual-access bridge, Hipshot Ultralight tuning machines and two special-design side-by-side 6-string Jazz Bass humbucking pickups. Alien Ant Farm's bassist Ty Zamora uses a similar bass with features and specs identical to those actually found on Roscoe's original Slant six-string monster, except for the addition of a 3+3 tuner array, no pickguard and an active 3-band EQ powered by a pair of 9V batteries (18V power supply).
