***SOLD PENDING PAYMENT***

This Roscoe SKB Custom 3005 is spectacular, but I knew when I bought it that I wouldn’t be keeping it. I wanted to try a Roscoe, but the 35” scale is hard for me due to residual issues from significant spinal damage/surgery.

Roscoe SKB Custom 3005 (35” scale)
Mahogany Body w/ Exhibition Koa Top & Matching Headstock
5-piece Maple neck w/Purple Heart center and Pao Ferro fretboard
Nordstrand pickups custom wound for Keith Roscoe Bass
Aguilar OBP-3 preamp
9.5lbs on my bathroom scale.

I replaced the original metal knobs with custom wood knobs made by David King. The volume, balance and mid knobs are pink ivory wood and the stacked bass/treble knobs are wenge. I will include the original knobs with the bass.

This bass is an absolute cannon with a B-string that is unbelievable. It is in excellent condition with the exception of three small plugged holes drilled by the original owner for the installation of a midi system (two on the front on either side of the bridge and one on the back near the strap button. Other than that, the bass is pretty minty, without any dings or scratches. The holes are barely noticeable and won’t get any worse (they have been this way for years). The last owner actually spoke with Keith Roscoe, who said he could fix the 3 small screw holes for around $150 if you want to get it done. However, they never bothered me at all, and they would be really easy to drop-fill without spending any money.

Comes with a clean Roscoe HSC.

$1,875 shipped CONUS (I will ship outside CONUS with price adjustment to cover the additional shipping cost).

The only trades I’m looking for are:
  1. Alien Audio Constellation 34” scale 5-string with P/Reverse-P pickups
  2. EBMM StingRay5 Special (or possibly a USA Sterling5)
  3. Muckelroy 33” scale 5-string
You can propose other trades, but the response will likely be a polite “no thanks.” Any trade will need to be under 9lbs, but for something really spectacular, a few ounces over 9lbs isn’t necessarily a deal killer.

Here she is (more pics in next post):

I’d say $1,950 or so.

EDIT: FWIW, it would be lower with just the original black knobs seen in the pic below, without including the David King custom wood knobs.

A beauty! I sympathize with your 35” trouble and have the same issue. I Still haven’t found the 34/35” bottom end I love on a 30” scale bass... perhaps it’s not out there. Best of luck. Great seller here folks!!!

Thanks Justin! I’ve kinda given up on anything under 32” and I’ve pretty much settled on 33” scale as the best balance between comfort and sufficient girth on the bottom end, particularly for 5-strings.

33’-34’ is the sweet spot for me too, though I’m at home with the 34.5 of the Fbass bn’s. Anything longer and my carpel tunnel sidelines me for days. Hit me worst with a Roscoe that I loved, but had to sadly let go ironically. This is the ‘problem’ with boutique basses and gas... you can’t try before you buy, but for me that just makes the horse trading more fun. I get a pavlovian endorphin rush when I see fed-x trucks now.
