Hey all... just wanted to relay a cable experience.
I received an inexpensive Rotosound instrument cable (<$10, straight, metal ends) from BassStringsOnline.
It's a great cable. I was just looking for an extra cable for my practice / recording / mixer setup. Works great.
Then,I tried it with my bass straight into my amp and noticed a brighter sound than my George L cable. So I went back and forth between the two without any other changes. I never thought I'd hear a difference between any cables but I liked the Rotosound cable sound better. It was a little brighter and more 'open' sounding.
Of course, I freely admit I could be crazy, imagining things, etc. but I tried it several times.
The cable is also very flexible. A great deal from a great vendor.
Just wanted to share my .02.
Live, I use a 20' Planet Waves with a breaker end to be able to unplug it without a pop... but when I need a new one, I'll probably pickup a Rotosound.
