Rough Fuzz?

Well, with so many "how do I get this sound threads" I figured I'd add one more...

I heard this song the other day, and liked the rough fuzz sound where the bass enters a few seconds in. Any thoughts as to a pedal that could give "rougher" fuzz sounds? I'm not looking to reproduce anything exactly, this is just an example (ignore the random anime; the other videos were live with different bass... also ignore that the song isn't necesarrily the best thing ever, my lack of musical taste can be discussd elsewhere).

I find the few fuzzes I've played around with are pretty smooth, but I could just be setting them wrong. Any speculation would be greatly appreciated.

sounds pretty awesome! the bass tone, i mean... ;)

reminds me of a pbass with a pick playing through... a boss odb3. mxr blowtorch, maybe? something really midrangy. i got close with my hematoma, but not quite there. same with my Assmaster. close, but not quite... the compTortion got the closest out of all of them. but i think the odb3'll do it.

Wow. I'm having horrible deja vu right now... Have I already asked this and gotten almost the same response from you?

Anyway, now that you mention it, the old ODB-3 did get pretty grindy in that rough kind of way. I probably should have given it a better go on the precision before I sent it on its way. I was thinking this was a cheaper pedal kinda sound for once though, so no big loss. Thanks for the thoughts and trying it out (possibly twice :) )
