Dr sunbeams with tone control rolled down some if passive and treble rolled down or flat if active. Sunbeams being very very warm, dark tone oriented with little top end. Their treble new to me sounds like very broken in roundwounds in general.

They definitely are, but I doubt they can be described as "tubby and dark".The Rotosound nickel 66's are really great.
