Roy Vogt's Third Annual Thunder Row Bass Bash at Summer NAMM!

Roy Vogt presents his Third Annual Thunder Row Bass Bash at Douglas Corner Cafe, 2106 8th Ave S # A, Nashville, TN on Friday, July 12th at 7 pm. Tickets are $10 at the door and benefit the W O Smith Community Music School, a great school that gives underprivileged kids music lessons at little or no cost. Performing are Scott Fernandez (12 and 18 string solo bass), Darren Michaels (solo looping bass and vocals from Atlanta, GA), Joseph Patrick Moore and Band and Roy Vogt's Urban Legends Band with special guests. Past guests include Chicago's Vuyani Wakeba and David Pastorius, so there will be some surprises! Come out for an evening of great Bass Music for a great cause!

On Friday, July 18th Roy Vogt presents his Fourth Annual Thunder Row Bass Invitational at Douglas Corner Café, 2106 8th Ave S., Nashville, TN 37204 at 7 pm. The Bass Invitational features some of the finest up and coming young bassists as well as bass icons from around the US and beyond. Tickets are $10 at the door and proceeds benefit the W.O. Smith Community Music School http://www.wosmith.org/ as well as the Lane Baldwin Emergency Relief Fund. Lane is a long-time figure in the Bass and Blues Community who has had several health setbacks this year and needs help with Medical and Living Expenses at this time. "Since he was instrumental in implementing Low Notes for Nashville's fundraiser after the 2010 Nashville Floods, I think it's a good thing to pay it forward and give Lane a hand at a challenging time", Roy said. Performing Friday night at the Bass Invitational will be Atlanta-based solo bassist Darren Michaels,12 and 18 string bass phenomenon Scott Fernandez (courtesy of Prat basses), Maryland-based 6 string bassist Kristin Bidewell, Quintin "Q" Berry (appearing courtesy of Aurora Strings), Roy Vogt's Urban Legends Band (courtesy of Carvin and Accuracy basses and DNA amplification), Chicago bassist Vuyani Wakeba and his band (courtesy of DNA amplification and Essential Sound Products), solo bass artist Andy Irvine (courtesy of Warwick basses), solo bassist Dylan Thomas (courtesy of Artisan Bass Works). Finishing up the evening will be a performance by the legendary Bill "The Buddha" Dickens (courtesy of Aguilar amplification and ropeadope Records). "It's sure to be a night of amazing bassists and music for a couple of really worthy causes," Vogt said.
