Rythm transcription

Does anyone have any tips for transcribing rythm, I think im getting alot better with the notes but the minute it comes to rythm I just find it very hard dont know why, Also find it hard to count whilst I play if that makes sense I can play written rythms but It comes more naturaly than going theres a crotchet so I count 1 then play on the second etc.

Heres my attempt at the first bit of Le Freak since im getting into disco bass now:

I dont belive this is right rythmicaly but the notes all seem to fit. (P.s shouldve used a repeat I know)

Thanks

Rhythm is misplaced. Check the correct way to notate that intro:

I seee, any tips on getting rythms like that transcribed correctly?

Hmm... well, I can't think of any particular "tip" aside from "formally" training on reading and understanding rhythmic notation. This book is simply excellent for that task, but I don't understand why it's so damn expensive! I have a copy in pdf format that I can send you if you are interested.

Forgot to mention that, while I don't dare to say how easy or difficult would be working on that book for an autodidact, one thing's for sure: A metronome is a must, no matter how easy some exercises seem to be. Link Removed is THE BEST free metronome you can find online.
