what kind of steinberger do you own? Is it an L2? and have you tried out the newer XL2 or synapse models?

I have an early '80's L2, yes. Haven't tried the others, they go way to far into nerd land.

I have two Roland G-77's with the synths, so I've tried that, sure. It's really fun. But practically speaking, I don't think MIDI and I are ever going to have much more than a passing relationship.
