S1-switch to killswitch?

Hello,
I just had an idea and I thought that it would be pretty nice to make the S1-switch on my Fender American Standard Jazz bass to a killswitch.
Is there a way to fix the switch so it doesn't stay in the "push"-mode when I'm pushing the button?

Do you mean you want it to be a momentary switch that doesn't stay switched down?

No, you can't do that with that switch.

But you can get small push button switches at Radio Shack that will work like that.

Avoid heavy duty switches and put a 1M resistor across the terminals and you should be ok.

I've always wondered--why bother with a killswitch when you can mute your amp? The S1 can be used for a lot more exciting stuff than that.

Or turn down your volume. The fact that he wants a momentary might mean he wants to do stuttering effects. I don't know.

It will still be latching. Down you have signal, up no signal.

That's the same as your S-1 switch.
