Sadowsky and Dunlop flats…why so expensive

I was looking at 5 string flat wound sets for my fretless and noticed the Dunlop and sadowsky 5 string sets are $120-125. Compare this to other sets which are around $50.

I have experience with labella, D’adDario, and Ernie ball flats. What makes the dunlops and sadowskys more expensive? Is it worth it?

They race to get second high price place after Ti JF345.....

Suggest get the EB 2810 which has soild B string and even string to string tonal .

I think their price is a combination of low production volume - IIRC, Sadowsky and Dunlop make their own strings - and the current supply problems that every manufacturer is having. From the comments here lately? All bass strings are costing more than they used to, not so very long ago. And, the dollar ain't what it once was, either - not so very long ago...
As to their comparative worth? That's pretty subjective; you'll have to decide that for yourself. For me? There isn't a single 5-string bass in my herd of 25, so... for me, the price for a 5-string string set is irrelevant. As to their relative merits? I do have a 4-string set of Sadowsky Blue Label Flats on my Carvin LB-20; if I had to replace them? I'd put another set of them on it, quick as a bunny. As for Dunlop flats? I've never used them; and, reviews here are... mixed. They're one of a small handful of flats that I have not tried - ever. But, I plan to remedy that in the near future. Trying new flats was the perfect excuse for buying a new bass for the project - so I did...

Im definitely intrigued by these strings but at 75$ more than other flat 5 string sets I am really looking for a compelling reason to try these.

I use Sadowski flats on my '78 Precision and I love them. My luthier recommended them and now I will never use anything else on a Fender. Expensive but worth it to me...
