Sadowsky chambering...multifaceted question

I'm aware that the U.S. model are generally chambered, generally affording a nice instrument weight.

My unsubstantiated observation is the Metro instruments are usually a little heavier, say 8 lbs. vs. 9 lbs. on average. I always assumed this was because Metro's are not chambered.

Curiously, the ME instruments all seem to be very light..~ 8 lbs., but ostensibly are not chambered. Any idea how this all plays out?

Again....this is all based on casual observation of instruments online....so my observations could be spurious.
