This is a great demo in a very short amount of time!
I don’t what it is, but that Sadowsky tone really stands out!
I have a tough time guessing how a beautiful sounding bass will sit in a mix. When I was using a jazz bass and a Sadowsky preamp, I thought the mid-scoop would kill it in the mix. Instead, the tight low end punched right through.
This is how demoes should be done! A variety of settings and playing styles with no distortion or loud music obscuring the natural tone. Nice sounding bass!
@lowdownthump and @AngelCrusher, when I hear this pure sound, it does make sense to hold out for a Sadowsky. I should have done it three years ago because my big girl’s college comes first.
They are a real player's instrument designed to fit in a mix with definition. I'm playing my Sadowsky M5-24 in a musical this weekend and I really appreciate the clarity.
I know this is fanning your GAS flames but I think a Sadowsky is really what you need/want.
The thing I've noticed with my Sadowsky is that you really appreciate it after you live with it for a few gigs. You're hearing yourself clearer with less volume, your notes still have girth, the sound guys love you, and the body like that it doesn't weigh more than the anchor for an Aircraft carrier.
So how about this: (here we go again...) sell everything except the Pedulla, and get a Sadowsky...
A good friend of mine has been kind enough to let me take his Metro Express out for a spin at a couple of gigs over the last few months. It has sounded superb each time!

I'll throw this out there too........this same guy bought a brand new Fender Jazz Elite 5 before getting this, ash body/maple neck. I have played that bass many times as well. YMMV and IMO but the Sadowsky put the hurt on the Fender, especially in the tone department. My band does the country rock thing and that Sadowsky cut through the mix like no other. And for a few hundred dollars less......
I tell you this: I will start no more threads about active Jazz Basses until I get a Sadowsky. Call me out if I break my word but I don’t think I will.
I have a Metro Express RV4 and it has become my favorite. Excellent quality and sound. Just over 8 lbs. And balances perfectly. There is nothing to criticize with that bass.
