The Metroline is what was featured in the thread. The MX is a different thing. Still... I took a look on SW and found no Precision-type basses as you mentioned in a very quick cursory look. Life is demanding I move on for tonight and get ready for the week. I'll check tomorrow. Thanks.

Just searched and they are loaded with them. SW has the Metroline Hybrid PJ 5 string fretted for $3,580, if that's what you are looking for. The MetroExpress fretted Hybrid 5 string PJ is same price as the fretless, $1,185.

They are P-basses, they are P/J Hybrids, perhaps that's where the confusion lies?

The Metroline Moderns in 5 are in the mid-$5,000 range.

The least-expensive Precision Bass-shaped object that I found on a quick scroll last night was $3,400. I do see the Jazz Bass-shaped instrument you are referring to at the price you mentioned. Shame it's only available in black with all those other colors that are unavailable. It's cool and I wonder where the side dot markers are placed. I'm going to assume (although I should not) that the dots SHOULD be right where the fret/fretline would be. Thanks!

It's like Henry Ford's Model-T. You can have any color you want, as long as it's black. Nice finish, looks good with the Pau Ferro board, but keep a polish cloth handy, because it does show fingerprints.

Yes, the PJ Hybrid is a smallish Jazz-shaped FSO. Mine weighs 9lbs 2oz but the one they got in next only weighs 8lbs 6oz. Luck of the "wood lottery."

Dots are where they should be,on the fret line at 3, 5, 7, 9 double (stacked) at 12, then 15, 17, 19, and 21. There is an extra dot at 1, you don't normally get one there. I find it is useful for subdividing the 1/2 position interval. I cannot speak to the dots on the fretted versions, since I have never seen one in person. Here are a couple side pics of my board.

Yeah, I was hoping for a Precision Bass shaped object, but the Jazz Bass shaped one looks nice. it looks nice. I was hoping for some other color than black, but black is ok. I have a fretless 4-string black Jazz bass already. I really appreciate the dot detail. It's like Warwick. Thank you for sharing.

I did a full set-up on the MX Hybrid today. I adjusted the truss rod almost a month ago when I put chromes on to handle the extra tension but left the strings where they were, lived with it. Now it plays like butter, so much easier. I have now learned my lesson - - that it just doesn't pay to live with a bad set-up, will never put one off again. Here's a side shot of the upper register with proper set-up.
