Sadowsky MS5 + pickguard?

I think they look great without the control plate, my ex-xotic was the best looking jazz i've had.

Still think it looks odd. Like there's supposed to be something there but it's missing. It's not quite as obvious with the rounded off pickguard like that though.

I was thinking of this passively, until the I saw black and tort metro vintage 5 pickguards in stock. I ordered some strings tomight, but did not order a pickguard.

So I think I'll just hold tight. Either I get used to it or let someone else get used to it. Seems a bit tedious to discuss I know. Probably be a non-issue if I didn't have another really nice 5 string. I think it goes back to not wanting something I kinda like to hang on the wall and not be in the rotation.

I have the same bass. I got a clear guard from Sadowsky. No holes in it. I could have used double sided tape but the tolerances are so tight that it slips over the pup and neck and is quite solid. Pricey but I like it. ONly reason I got it is for making slap and pop feel better for my hand.

That's a pretty cool option too. If they could cut me a clear or other (leaning towards tort) without screw holes, it may be worth the extra money if I don't have to buy screws, cut them and glue them on.

If it was a solid colour, absolutely. But as natural, it's kinda 'eh'. The black guard above is great though.
