Hello,

I recently purchased Sadowsky #7265 and took delivery today, which according to Sadowsky was preowned and played by Mr. Will Lee. I took it out of the shipping box, removed the bell cover, tune it and played it for a while through my different amps and played with different EQ settings on the amps and bass. Keep in mind this bass was bought by me already used, the bass shows some wear as well as the portabag. It appears that Mr. Lee actually did use this bass, and doesn't seem to have been a closet queen. So understand that this bass is not mint.

This is my first Sadowsky bass and I'd never tried one in person. I find the neck to be a little bit bigger than I'd prefer. I have to adjust my thumb placement vs my other necks, but playing in first position is still a little painful for me. This is a subjective issue, but It doesn't make sense to hold on to such a nice instrument, if it's not going to be played as much as it deserves. I would be interest in trying another Sadowsky if the neck is thin.

Pictures: Link to Sadowsky page.
This bass was owned and played by Will Lee himself and played at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. You will notice that it has a number of special features that Will likes on his personal instruments and make this bass unique: 1) battery box 2) large, glow-in-the-dark side marker stickers 4) setup tool clip on the back of the headstock 5) d-tuner 6) mid-boost preamp 7) bell cover on the P pickup (removable).

Interesting and unique for sure, you won’t be interested in another (regular jazz) Will Lee I assume?

Thanks
Simom
No, Jazzes sound-wise don’t seem to work for me like P basses. Even on this bass I find panned all the way to the P pickup is best. The mid boost is a super nice feature that I really like.

I emailed the shop just to see if they could re-route a J to a P/J, and they said no.
