Sadowsky Preamp/Sadowsky single coils

I have a chance to buy either a 1973 jazz bass with the above electronics, OR a 2000 Jazz bass with the above electronics. Which one should I get?

They both sound good!!!!

I wouldn't either w/out checking it out first, but assuming the neck and body on the 73 have no problems (twisting, extra routes, etc), you'll get a higher value with the 73 IMO - meaning it will be worth more when u try to sell it one day.

Get the 73 if u can swing it - 1200 for a 73 Jazz w/out original PU's is still a fantastic price. Is it original finish? What color? These things all matter in determining value.

Nothing is wrong with the 73, I only needs a new bridge. would cost me about $100
foe a new one and install. 73 has that mojo, and the 2000 sounds modern.

+1 go for the 73, if the finish is original, and the neck is straight. Also, a Leo Quan BA 1 is a deal breaker for me.

I would jump on that 73, and keep a look out for an original early 70s bridge, pickups, and pots. You can get modern Fenders all day long, anywhere. That is a pretty nice deal on a 73 Jazz!
