Sadowsky Singles Review

I've had a Marcus Miller Bass for several years. Two years ago I installed a Sadowsky pre. To my ears it was a big improvement. I think it sounded more refined than the original. The pups that came with the bass were not bad. They sound decent with or without the pre. However due to constant gas from talkbass and my obsession with Sadowsky basses. I decided to give the Sad singles a shot.

At one time I thought about getting HC but I still wanted the bite and grind of single coils. My first impression was these are really bright. I rolled the VTC off almost all the way. They are more punchy and aggressive than the I thought. At first I had a moment of fear. I just spent $160 on pu that I'm not sure if I like. So then I tryed playing with music. That is where these pickups excel. They sound perfect in the mix. I even rolled the VTC back up and it sounded great. These pups work great with Sad pre. The boost on the pre are very sensitive, a little goes a long way.

On a side note for reference I was playing through a VTBass into a shuttle 9.0 using a XB2 6x10 cab.

Oh and thanks Brad aka Bardley for the install. :)
