"Safety" question

Yep. You have to be able to recognize the sounds of speakers struggling. If you hear that farting out noise, you can basically either turn your lows down, or your volume down. Long term, if you're not loud enough at that point, you can either play in a quieter band, or get more speakers.

You could spring for a fdeck HPF-pre v1 for $55 ppd. plus a limiter, the cheapest of which is built into the ART Tube MP that someone's selling for $26 new. Heck, I don't know that you're not going to fricassee your rig anyway, but if I knew I was gonna be pushing things, I could see myself coughing up $81 to try to protect a rig that would cost a whole lot more to replace.

I'm running two Accugrooves, a Tri112 & Tri112L using my Stewart 2.1 bridged with the master of the amp and my preamp at full volume. However I barely turn up the gain on the preamp. All of the headroom power makes this rig sound great. I've never worried about too much power but then again I'm careful and know how to get the best out of the rig.

By the time that you "hear it" in a band situation, the damage may have already happened. Especially if you don't have enough rig for the gig.

+1 for telling the other guys to turn the f down. Dynamics and musicality are hard to express when you are full on all the time. I don't care what your amps and cabs are rated at, pushing anything to its limits for extended periods of time is stressful. Think of your rig like your body. You can't go full out for 3-4 hours and not expect some damage. Just my opinion. Also should mention, do you have good quality ear plugs?

Wow, I should have checked back. I just assumed the case was closed. Haha, guess not.

I've gone back to my smaller head. I haven't used it in a while, it sounds pretty good. I figured I'd better be safe than sorry.

Either way, for the most part, I usually play jazz. Usually on upright. It's never very loud, which is why I didn't really think about the 600w amp vs. 450w cab. This band though....they're loud. Haha. And yes, I have some of those custom musician's earplugs. It should be alright.

I also did some messing around, I don't think I'm going to stick with the fuzz pedal. I had big plans, but I'm not used to pedals and stuff, where I mostly play upright.

Thanks a ton for the help!
