I thought I would share my views of my latest piece of music gear .
I bought a Samson Expedition XP510 PA system (see link) as a small gig/rehearsal PA due to my current PA being crap now
This is a 500 watt (2x250 watt) system with the amp/mixer slotting into the back of one cab and the leads and other stuff in the back of the other, it joins together nicely to make a combined weight of 54lbs but I like two individual pieces better at 27lbs each, the sound quality is excellent with an Ipod attached to the built in Ipod dock, it is pretty loud for music playback with a good EQ .
It gives good clear sounding vocals but has just hi/low EQ with no mid, it still sounds good despite this, it has 10 built in effects which are nice .
I took a chance buying this as I had not seen many reviews on other brands but this system is nicely built, has some good features, is very portable and sounds very good, we had a band rehearsal last night with it and it was loud enough with my rock covers trio, there was not a huge amount of headroom left but we were in a very big empty hall with a high ceiling and we were playing loud, I think this PA would be fine for a small pub/club type gig as a trio or as monitors with a bigger system .
Big thumbs up from me
