SANS AMP RBI RACK MOUNT HELP!

So i just recently purchased a sans amp rbi rackmount for my bass amp. I've spent tons of time with the manual and still can't seem to figure out how to set it up. I have two pictures (the front of the rack mount & the back) If bigger pictures are needed don't hesitate to let me know. Hopefully someone can help me out.

Rack mount:

Top Rack: Behringer Tuner

Middle Rack: Sansamp RBI

Bottom Rack: Ampeq B2R

Thanks<3

What problem are you having exactly? do you not know how to start to wire it or what? You need to be more specific...

However, assuming that's the case, you need to ask yourself what you want to use the ampeg head for. I recommend only using the B2R as a power amp (hopefully it can try and be decent at that).

In order to hook this up, you'll need 2 instrument cables and a speaker cable (I assume you have the speaker cable, to hook up your B2R to the cab). So in order to bypass the preamp section of the B2R, which you definitely want to do, you will take an instrument cable and look on the back of your Sansamp for a boxed-off in white border section that says "Output" and plug one end of the cable into the jack that says "sansamp". After you've done that, plug the other end into the jack on the back of the Ampeg B2R that will say something like "effects return" or "effects loop return". This skips the preamp of the ampeg so you only amplify the wonderful Sansamp tone. After you've done this, just connect the ampeg to the cab the way you regularly do, plug your bass into the front of the sansamp and you are good to go!

** To hook the tuner up, there should be able to use a regular instrument cable and plug it into the "unaffected" jack (right next to the "sansamp out" that you used to connect the sansamp to the Ampeg head) and just run that to the tuner. Haven't tried that before but it should work ok.

Hope that helped! =)

First I would like to congratulate you on the RBI, great choice. The Behringer rack tuner on the other hand is a complete miss. I doubt it can even track your open E string.

Since you cannot mute the RBI, you would need to plug your bass into the input of the tuner, from tuner output to RBI input (you can use the one on the back) and from RBIs Sansamp 1/4" output to the FX return of the Ampeg.

I hope the Behringer has a mute function, otherwise you can't tune silently live with this setup.

If you can not silently tune, my most simple suggestion would be to snag a used Ernie ball vol Jr, then you have an output as well as a dedicated tuner out so you can pull you volume all the way back and tune silently. Also I LOVE have a master input vol on the floor, I much prefer to turn down there than use the knobs on my instrument, and it makes fading in and out so sweet.... It's also very advantageous having some volume control when running other pedals, just in case some sort of combination heats up the signal too much.

no, don't do that! tuner outs on volume pedals Invalid Link Removed.

if you're gonna use a pedal tuner (i certainly would) either get one that already mutes and is true bypass like the korg pitchblack, or use a simple A-B box to switch between playing and using the tuner.
