Sansamp Help (buzzz)

I'm getting a buzzing noise when I use this now, which I never used to. (I did however run it through my GK1001, now I use the SVT6, could be something to do with the tube pre-amp in the 6??) or I think it may be something to do with the ground loop problem they mention in the manual.

Although that reads :

"If you experience hum from the output when there's no instrument plugged in..."

My bass is plugged in. I can't figure this one out. Any help guys?

Does it buzz when the bass is not plugged in?

If so, unplug the sansamp from the wall & use a battery.

if it still buzzes, its not a ground loop.

I assume you are using a BDDI? There are level adjustment switches (line/inst). Maybe the 6 pro has a hotter input & you need to click the level switch on the BDDI to a lower output.

Yep, had the same problem and posted a long thread here about it. I'll go see if I can find it. Bottom line is i sent the RBI in for repair/inspection by Tech 21 and they said they could find no problem with it. It buzzed with my power amp into speakers with no bass plugged in and even buzzed when used with my battery powered headphone amp. Tried it in several different locations to make sure it wasn't bad power GIG, work, my house, wife's work, buzzed everywhere. I ended up selliing it and getting the battery operated stomp box version and never had a problem again. Thing is, the person I sold the RBI to never had any problems with it. Go figure.

Yeh I read that earlier.

I think it's my house, domestic power and all that, 'cos the two venues I used this at prior were fine, no buzz, silent as.

Apparently it's a common thing so I'm not gonna worry. It only took a few dial adjustments and it wasn't as prominent anyhow.

I'll let ya know if I fix it, even though you're Sansamp is well and truly gone. Might prompt you to buy a new one. I'm just not a fan of pedals personally...

What kind of pickups do you have?, my Bassdriver DI doesn't seem to like Bartolinis at times. I ended up getting an Ebtek Hum Eliminator, that has been a handy piece of gear to isolate the BDDI from my rig.

I've heard that some folks have had good luck using one of these.

After I sold my RBI, I got this version of the hum eliminator.

It has worked in a couple of PA applications when ground hum was present. Might be worth a try. If you buy from MF you have 45 days to return it if it doesn't do the job.
