Well other than the obvious that you get 128 slots vs 3 in performance mode, performance mode also makes it fast to select the slot you want. You don't have to scroll.

I could do this as i also use the amazingly useful SansApp. I can't tell you how useful this is. BT connection is ruck solid and there is som much control available, even more so than the official desktop app by the looks of it.

For my use, Performance mode just gives me faster access to the 3 presets I use.

So I just come back from a rehearsal where I A/B'ed the Elite against the SH1, and I'm sad to say the SH1 won! The elite simply couldn't come close. especially with distortion.

Is there any plans of introducing the SHI1 preamp or more importantly the bite button to the Elite or should I just sell this? In the end I am left pretty disappointed by the whole thing, especially when I have been promised multiple times by Tech21 in comments of the posts that this will be able to get the SH1 sound.

Not to mention other things i found:
-Change preamp, and the EQ resets, so it makes it extremely difficult to keep the same EQ and just compare the preamps
-In performance mode, if you hit the same channel twice by accident it bypasses the pedal, who wants to bypass their rig during a show, I wish there was a way you could toggle that off.
-The tuner doesn't show Bb or A#, so that makes it fun when you have a 5 string and need to tune half a step down

And what is most disappointing is that this is a product I want to like, I am a happy owner of the original bass fly-rig and the SH1 has be the center of my rig since the day I got it back in 2019, dreaming of a product which combines those two pedals. Really hope that a future firmware update makes that a reality.

I ran into a big problem with my Sansamp last night and the night before. The sound tech Friday complained about a high pitched sizzling sound. When I listened closely I could hear it coming from my stage speaker too. It's a Mackie Thump 215. We put up with it but he had to EQ all the high frequencies from my bass signal. We were able to determine that it came from both outputs on the ELITE. Last night the problem recurred and after some serious troubleshooting we determined that it was eliminated by using a cord directly into the Sansamp. I had been using my Line6 Wireless. I use the now discontinued G70/G75 digital wireless systems. I have one of each and have been using them for a decade at least running into amps, preamps etc most recently my Quad Cortex, and they have never been a problem until now. I have tested both the G70 and the G75 and they both result in the same sizzle. I'll try to find time today to get a video clip demonstrating the problem. As it is it's unusable unless I use a cable. I'm a very mobile musician on stage so this is a serious problem. Anyone else see this and have a suggestion? I will email support when I have video.

Panic in the moment combined with the fact that in ten plus years the wireless systems have never been a problem when plugged into many different amplifiers, preamps and rack gear. We were pressed for time Friday so I just plugged into the venue amp on stage. I had more time last night so I was able to narrow it down.

But your comment isn't helpful to my situation.

Yes, it's normal to look at any new hardware that has been introduced to an existing, working system.
Last year I got an AMPEG SDT-DI. Sounded great until I turned the IR on. Then I was getting a high pitched buzzing. I started a return as this wasnt usable. Just before I packed it up I tried it with a cable and it was fine. Then I tried it with an old Xvive U2 and it was fine. Turned out it ws my Lekato wireless system that was the cause, even though ive been using it for about 2 years with various pedals and rigs witohjiut a single issue. Seems like either it's not well shielded, or had become faulty and only this pedal showed this up. No idea why only with the IR on, but it was 100% the wireless. It was the last thing id check as it has always just worked.

Yup. XVIVE also has a pedal version of the receiver that I assume is powered externally. I wonder if that is a safe option. I hate having to replace gear that has served me well for so long and I have two but the G70/75 systems are known for dropouts and it's 2.4GHz which has its own problems. Maybe the time has come.

Can anyone else confirm that the XVIVE P58 pedal version works well with the Sansamp?

Yeah, I hate having to buy new gear to make other new gear work, but it sounds like maybe the time is right for you.

Too late. I just ordered the XVive P58. It also has a really nice tuner and a cable in and the pedal receiver has a USB C charging port with a short cable so you can charge the bug on the pedalboard. And it's only $300 CDN. If it has the same problem it's going back but I'm reasonably confident that it will fix the problem. I really want to get away from 2.4 as it's so crowded. I'll let you know how it works.

Also I'm happy to report that I have sold my Quad Cortex! The tones I'm getting from the Sansamp are better than anything I've been able to achieve with the Quad. Dynamic response on the Sansamp is just so satisfying. The Quad is way overkill for bass. And yet it never quite got me there. I really liked the synth device block but it had limitations. I now have a Future Impact VIP that just blows the Quad synth block off the planet. I got double what I paid for the Sansamp and FI VIP from the Quad sale and I've had it four years so I'm a very happy bassist. Better tone and money in my pocket. 😁 Once again, thanks to the team at Tech21.

The bane with digital products for bass has always been dynamics in both response and feel. The Elite uses our own proprietary architecture rather than standard digital modeling.
Great choice on the Future Impact! It's an absolute BEAST of a synth pedal.
We (Tech 21) are the exclusive North American distributors for the FI.

Glad you're diggin your new gear!!

For trade Trade Tech 21 bass driver elite for a XB driver

I picked up one of these, I was actually one of the very first guys to get it I played around with it and it is very cool but I'm thinking I want to try something simpler. I already have all the other sansamp bass driver types, I'd like to try the XB driver. Pedal is meant only played around...
