Hey PBassnut...re the rack mountable VT? It's at the NAMM right now. Thanks for the pic Vegas.

Thanks for the hot tip on the rack mountable VT Bass, Mike in Chicago. I have a pretty good idea that I'll have to have one of those bad boys sooner or later. I didn't see a 10" speaker emulation defeat switch on the front panel ... I sure hope they saw fit to include that feature. I wouldn't say that I dislike the 10" speaker emulation, but generally prefer it in defeat mode on my VT Bass Pedal V2.

You guys should be thanking me for the rackmount VT Bass.
Same as the stock market: I just bought a VT Bass pedal, so that insured a VT Bass rack unit would appear.

:D

Joking aside, the pedal has use for times when I don't bring the rack.
If Tech21 has a useful means of a single footswitch switching between the RPM and VT Bass rack unit, they will have a real winner.

As I understand the RPM, the footswitch is either RPM-engage, or RPM-passthrough.
If it can pass to the VT Bass Rack, two completely separate configurations could be set up, i.e. Clean + Grind.
Neat.

As you probably already know a single footswitch can be used to alternate between a pair of RBIs, RPMs, or RBI+RPM. I agree, it would be great if the VT rack unit incorporated that same feature! It's not make-or-break for me, but I'm curious. Can the tech21 rep give us the 411?

Hey Ken,
You can thank me for the release of the VT Rack...
Right after I finally bought my VT Bass pedal, they announced the VT Rack. :D

Actually, not a bad thing.
I enjoy the pedal, which fits in my bass case, and I don't have to haul the rack..

:p Certainly: thank you for taking the bullet for us!

With pedal vs. rack unit, obviously there are pros and cons for each. Every so often I'll try a pedal, but I wind up keeping everything in a rack, probably because of the lead singers I work with who like to prance around every inch of the stage... apparently they can see a full pedalboard, but not individual pedals.
 <-- blind

I just got an RPM for a good deal on Craigslist, and I'm honestly a bit disappointing. The lack of the presence knob makes this thing sounds too dark and fuzzy, so it sounds like I likely need an RBI in my case. :bawl:

Dark and fuzzy...really? Have you played with the treble, sweepable mid and mid cut/ boost?

What cab/ amp are you using it with? What connections on the RPM and your amp are you using?

I would suggest downloading the manual from the tech 21 website so you can use the suggested settings on there. There is plenty of brightness to be had.
