Sao Paulo - good music shops?

Work takes me to Sao Paulo, Brazil in a week's time. I write here to ask if anyone know of shops down there, they would recommend for:

1: Interestering pedals
2: Vintage Fenders
3: Brazilian acoustic instruments - like all those weird, small guitars

...or just good music shops in general.

In Sao Paulo, you will find instruments shops at Teodoro Sampaio Street.
You can also take a look into a local custom shop, and try some bases:

There is a street called Teodoro Sampaio, it is close to the Clínicas subway station. I think your best bet is to look around there. It is known as the music street here. Well, and furniture too, but I don't think you're interested in that

Another place you could look for music shops is on a street called Santa Ifigênia, but in general they prefer to have the cheap stuff... And lots of computer stuff. It is more focused on the computer stuff, by the way.

Depending on the time you have available, you may want to visit N.Zaganin. I never went there, but it is one of the most famous small brands here. You may want to take a look at their website: N.Zaganin - Custom Guitars
Unfortunately, they're not close to the streets I mentioned above.

And depending on when you're coming, we are going to have an "Expomusic" this weekend, so that may be an option too, even though they don't sell anything there, it is nice to take a look at all the brands offering.

1) Are you moving to SP or here on a business trip?
2) The street that Dan mentioned might be the "music district." there are a crap load of shops there. Playtech may be your best bet. if you cant find the "music district," there's a Playtech in Centro(downtown).

Oh. I think Playtech may be your best bet. Teodoro Sampaio is where all of the stores are. I don't think seven days is enough time for a custom shop.

Thanks a lot to both of you. Last question: Are there any traditional Brazilian acoustic bass instruments (like the Mexican bajo sexto/quinto)?

Nop. No typical brazillian bass. But, you can find some basses with brazillian woods.
If you have luck, you can find a bass with rosewood from Bahia (North East part of Brazil), which is a very top wood for figerboard (th best rosewood). Normally, rosewoods instruments in the market are from indian rosewood.
This wood is not allowed anymore to be explored, due to preservation programmes. But the Luthiers can find it from demolition waste (believe me, people used to make everything with these woods, from furniture to stairs, walls - such a waste).
In Teodoro Sampaio, there is a store that sell top basses (manly used) - I think the name is Bass Center... Try to find it.

I'm reviving this zombie thread because I will be in Sao Paulo in a couple weeks. Are there any new music shops worth visiting since 2011? Any good concerts coming up?
