I just got this bass at a car boot sale ,i cleaned it up and put new strings on it . its very heavy and neck is good and thick .does anyone have any info on them
Wow, necro thread alert! Responding to this for just one reason - a Satellite P copy identical to this was the very first bass I ever bought. I paid £84 for it in 1978. That was quite a lot of money back then!
LOL. I got one for Christmas, might've been 78, or 79, and it was £83. I've still got it, but I stripped the frets off the neck, wired a switch in to swap the pickup wiring from series to parallel, and have stripped and repainted it twice; once white, and the second time to transparent red.
I never play it these days though; it's in a box under the bed but, if I ever felt the need to cover Sunrise by New Order, that switch can make it sound just like the bass on Low-Life!
