You can kinda see it in this photo, the back is scalloped and tapers thinner to the back.

I also drilled for a nice black brass jack plate since there is such limited room in the control cavity (no room for the long switch craft jack)… very thin and oh so comfy also drilled the recessed strap locks.

And pretty happy with my first set neck joint, super thin and smoove

I’m in the last hours of finger board finishing touches happy with the progress so far, but down to the wire.

Yes, that’s good idea… I’m planning some ‘phase 2’ activities, I’d like to use it for some knobs and maybe a cover? with the grain standing vertically

Looking forward to that. I’ve made a few knobs from Spectraply. I haven’t always liked them but they should blend nicely with the neck.

• Single cut headless 34 inch scale
  Black Limba body with Purple Heart middle layer and flamed Maple top
• Scalloped back
• Finish was done with transtint and Mohawk instrument sealer
• Spectraply neck (better known as Rockwood)
• Ziricote fingerboard
• Delano Xtenders switched for series/single/parallel
• Null 4-band preamp 9v
• Brass headpiece
• Steinberger bridge with 4mm thrust bearings
• Purple Heart control cover with neodymium magnets for closure
• Brass recessed, black jack plate
  
• Recessed Dunlop strap locks

Does it matter much which way you orient the Spectraply? Would it be stiffer or not if the plies were vertical instead of horizontal?

Was hoping you'd keep the body natural but that's just personal preference.

I discovered that thin plys fall apart easily and no strength, so I don’t think the panel is possible.
